Taco Bake

If you like crescent rolls, sour cream, and DORITOS – then this is the recipe for you! It’s simple and it’s great! The kids love it because it’s covered in chips!!!!

A great friend of mine made this for me about 7 years ago and it’s stuck with us ever since, thanks Amy!

Ingredients:
1 lb. hamburger
1 pkg. taco seasoning
8 oz. sour cream
1 pkg. crescent rolls (8)
1 can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
1 c. shredded cheese
Dorito chips

1. Brown hamburger and drain.

2. Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, tiny bit of water, and diced tomatoes. Simmer…

 

3. In a Glass 9 Inch x 13 Dish , press out crescent rolls and roll them to form crust.

 

4. Here comes the Dairy!!! Layer hamburger mixture, sour cream and then cheese.

 

 

 

5. Crush about 3/4 of a bag of Doritos and put them on top. Bake at 350 for 30 min.

    I think before I add all the layers I’m gonna prebake the dough just to see if it insures a non doughy texture !!

    I used wedges instead of the dough, I added chilli’s to give the hamburger mixture some kick and I left the Dorito chips whole. It was awesome.

  3. What do you use to eat it with? Tortilla chips, crackers?.?

  4. Can u use can biscuit as a sub for crescent rolls

    • I have never done it that way but I would think it would work. I would roll the biscuits thin to make it more crust like. Let us know how it works!

  5. I would leave the chips off if you are going to refrigerate and add them after you reheat the casserole.
